Good basic modern comfortable hotel room. Was cheaper than any Manhattan hotels I could find, because it is in Brooklyn.
You really have to be prepared for the walk underneath the expressway up to the subway station and commute into Manhattan, and back home. An info guide from the hotel about the fastest way into the city would have saved me some time before I learned about the express trains. But then again I didn't ask. Americans all over seem to have funny ideas about breakfast, to Australian eyes. Bowls of hard boiled eggs but no jam or honey for toast? Hotel is in ugly street, but the neighbourhoods up the hill are interesting. Would only recommend with strong warning about distance to Manhattan.
Good facilities for a 2star hotel.
Room temp set too high and air-con difficult to work. No net curtains or blinds.
the freindliness of staff and helpfulness, the room was very comfortable and kept very clean by the staff, the continental buffet breakfast was very good, and plentiful, the end of the street afforded easy access to the B37 bus on 3rd avenue and the 53 and 45 street R service New York Transit (subway ) only a short walk onto 4th Avenue, giving very easy access to Manhatton and the rest of New York the R train being express once in Manhatton, local through Brooklyn. Although the hotel is situated in a fairly rough industrial part of Brooklyn there are shops and restaurants on 4th avenue and the area felt fairly safe to walk around in.
The hotel was quite new. They allowed me to leave my baggage at the reception upon arrival and after check-out. The breakfast was ok.
The view from my room - right next was roof of some other house. Subway is quite far and streets on the way are not very clean and nice :-) But at least you go around some groceries.
We choose this hotel as it is close to drive to jfk. Hotel is clean and nice. Room and was large enough. Really close to metro station. Price was good.
District does not fell very safe. Breakfast was very poor.
I think hotel service is good I recommend for couples and families
Location is bad
I liked the view of the statue of liberty, the continental breakfast, and the comfort of the bed.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Location and accessibility to city was good.
A little sleazy in terms of location but we felt very safe in the hotel.
Shower didn't work. Room not cleaned during stay. Roll away bed horrible. Far from everything. Not a nice part of Brooklyn. Overall a horrible place to stay if visiting nyc.
Despite the distance of Manhattan (40 min by subway), the neighborhood is quiet and well served by commerce and services. The apartment is confortable and clean, the staff is excellent, and it´s an ideal and affordable place for staying.
On entering NewYork [JFK] it was an easy hotel to locate . The complimentary breakfast is also commendable .
The internet facility is poor especially inside the rooms . The rooms are not spacious enough .
Staff Very Friendly...
The Doors.... they were loud... you can hear your neighbors when they arrived to thier rooms.....
The hotel was a good value for the price. The train station was a 10 min walk away each day. Very functional for my stay in New York.
Sounds/hallway traffic from other guests could be heard distinctly through the walls. I would expect to hear some noise, but it was as if only a thin curtain separated my room from the hallway sounds.
breakfast waS very good, very comfortable but location not good.
had mouse in bin in the room?
My bed. Because after very exhausting days exploring Manhattan I always looked forward to just jump into the bed and get some sleep. It was very comfortable and the next day I was always very lazy to get out again :D The room was kept tidy by housekeeping.
Maybe the space in the room is worth to mention. The closet is rather small and there is not much space for your suitcase to have it fly around, but it really is no big deal, I always threw my suitcase on the bed if needed anything out of it and when it was sleeping time I just kicked it off the bed. Another thing is the air conditioner/heater, during night when it started to heat it woke you up because the initial start was a bit noisy but never kept you away from falling back to sleep again, you can also switch it off during night but the room can get very cold if the automated heating is not activated.
